Mimi's Sugar Cookies

I don't know about you, but I feel like a good sugar cookie recipe is hard to come by. My grandma, Mimi, however has a killer one that always turns out great. These are simple and adorable (plus super yummy!). You only need 8 ingredients to make them. So what are you waiting for?! Get all the details below.

You'll Need:
2 Sticks/1 Cup of  Butter
1 Cup Sugar
1 Egg
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
3 Cups Flour
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1/4 Teaspoon Almond Extract
{Extract amounts can be mixed however; I used 3/4 Teaspoon Vanilla & 1/2 Teaspoon Almond}
1/4 Teaspoon Salt (Or Use Salted Butter)
Sugar Crystal Sprinkles (Red Look Great!)

Recommended Tools:
Mixer of Choice (Love My KitchenAid)
Baking Sheet
Silicon Baking Sheet Cover
Cookie Scoop
Small Dish
Wine Glass (will explain...no it's not for a prep bevarage!)

-Preheat Oven to 400 degrees-

Mix butter, sugar, eggs, and extracts until creamy.

Slowly add in flour and baking powder (splash guards and a dish towel recommended to prevent the mess I made...).

Use the cookie scoop to fill a sheet. I fit about 15-20 per {larger} sheet.

Pour a generous amount of sprinkles on to the plate. Dip the rounded side of dough into the sprinkles and return to baking sheet, sprinkle-side up.

Use the bottom of the wine glass to slightly flatten the cookies.

Once they are all flattened to about the same thickness, pop them in the oven for 8-10 minutes. The silicon sheet helps to keep them from browning too much, so that way they stay super soft!

After you let them cool, try not to eat them all! Just kidding, but really they are delicious.
